About Us
The New Jersey Bakers Board of Trade (NJBBT) is dedicated to the promotion of the baking industry in the state of New Jersey. Membership is open to any retail or wholesale organization involved in this industry. Student membership is available for high school, vocational/technical school and college students enrolled in any baking or pastry arts program.
Our members include bakers and management of retail and wholesale bakeries, bagel shops, educators, commercial pastry chefs as well as members of the allied trades. Our organization is dedicated to helping our members not only survive, but succeed. Members receive continuing education through workshops, a quarterly newsletter dedicated to sharing the latest trends and news of the baking business and the resources of our board of directors and education committee.
NJ Bakers is a co sponsor of the American Bakery Expo being held in Atlantic City on September 21-23, 2008. Presented biennially The “Atlantic City Bakery Show” is the largest bakery exposition on the east coast, offering educational programs, networking opportunities, product information and many contests for decorators and bakers. NJBBT offers educational workshops, working closely with student bakers and instructors who inspire and mentor the future of baking.
NJ Bakers offers many benefits to its members including: certification programs, baking and pastry art activities, updates on commodities and trends, workshops, networking with fellow professionals and continuing education support.
Over 90 years ago a group of bakers met to shape this association to provide service, education, representation, organization and communication to fellow retailers. That tradition remains today.
